FINISHINGS

With the finishings Michael an i begun on Tuesday, in the course of this week several helpers were added, so that we were finished with the biggest works on Friday against 18:00. Afterwards until Saturday 01:30 am the exhibition cars were brought to the area:

 

MEETING

Due to the fact that the highway exit „AMSTETTEN-WEST“ was closed, this year the “OLDTIMER” rest station near to the highway exit “OED”  was selected as the meeting point. Michael and I were at ten o'clock sharp at the meeting place and were surprised, that already many participants in the meeting place were, among others the delegations from BUDAPEST, VIENNA and INGOLSTADT.

During the greetings the prepared detail information was handed over to the announced participants, the not announced participants fill out the registration in the meantime.

Some participants announced by telephone a small delay, so we decided to shift the departure from the “OLDTIMER” rest station to approx. 11:15. One of the still missing participants Hubert P. was communicated that this should wait in ASCHBACH and us follows there. 

With some delay we drove in the convoy from OED to ASCHBACH, further to the "WHITE CROSS" over HAUSMENING to NEUHOFEN/YBBS where outskirts of town an assembly point was intended. After the arrival of the last participant and short cigarette break we continued to SCHLICKEREITH, further over the mountain “HOCHKOGELBERG” (where many helpers made videos) till the next assembly point in SCHLIEFAU. From SCHLIEFAU we drove in the convoy (thanks of the many helpers) toward ST. LEONHARDT up to the to the real meeting area into SCHMALZREITH.

 

 After the arrival at the meeting area the cars and engine compartments of the participants were inspected, photographed and the first discussions starts. After the inspection of the participant cars was more or less ready, the participants went into the direction festival hall, to look the issued

Rally Audi Quattro  of Peter FRIESSENEGGER from KEMATEN,

Rally Audi Coupe S2 of Martin GROSSBERGER from WAIDHOFEN,

Iceracing Audi Quattro of Wolfgang SCHÖRGHUBER from EURATSFELD.

 

While the participants with meals for “Calm down the growling stomachs and drinks for “to die of thirst” was bussy, I received a call. Martin N. had arrived ST. LEONHARDT and I made myself on the way to pick him up and bring him to the meeting area.

Back on the meeting area I got the next call, a call that me specially pleased,  because at the other end of the line was Alfons HOHENESTER, he tell me that he now had arrived the agreed rest station near the Highway with his HS 650 RR. I made myself immediately on the way to the rest-station near the highway to meet Alfons and bring him to the meeting area.

The co-organizer Michael tormented me with calls during Alfons and I was on the way over the mountain HOCHKOGELBERG, as we arrived SCHLIEFAU I took its call and I answer his question about the approximate arrival time at the meeting place.

 

When we arrived on the meeting area, a majority of the participants was moved to a hill where the have a better view on our arrival. After reaching the parking area I present the “Tuning Pope” Alfons to the participants which not yet knew them.

Surrounded of participants Alfons gave its best to explain the concept of the HS 650 RR and the HS 650 RR or to answer questions regarding Tuning. As Alfons it realize that a person wanted more, reacted Alfons like the reputation it hurries him ahead and let obstruct these strongly.

 

 Approx. 15:30 started a short round travel with me as guidance car behind Alfons HOHENESTER in the HS 650 RR followed from Martin GROSSBERGER in Rally Audi Coupe S2 and the further participants. As the Co-Driver of Alfons HOHENESTER came Wolfgang SCHÖRGHIUUBER into the pleasure of the HS 650 RR. From the meeting area near ST. LEONHARDT we drove to SCHLIEFAU, up to the mountain HOCHKOGELBERG over the panorama route with her marvelous view over the MOSTVIERTEL to ST. LEONHARDT and back to the meeting area.

 The first 2 competitions was been carried out at the last part to the area (a private road). It was a speed measurement competition divided into cars for the road traffic and cars for motorsports (although the HS 650 RR is certified for the roads traffic, but Alfons started in the category motorsports cars). The start was approx. 100 meters before a right turn, then a light left curve and in the following short straight line the reached speed was measured.

After this competition, in accordance with announcement the next competition was planed (The owner of car sits blindfolded at the passenger seat and gives the driver after 30 meters the instruction to stop the car) but this has not been carried out, because we was behind the time schedule and only 4 participants have given their registration for this event.

 

Some the participant needed relatively urgently 100 oktan gasoline therefore a travel to the gasoline station in WAIDHOFEN   was organized

As I returned with the participants me was communicated that a participant on black car from the district a SCHEIBBS confounded the meeting area with a racing course.

 

During the following presentation runs of Alfons HOHENESTER in the HS 650 RR, Martin GROSSBERGER in the Rally AUDI Coupe S2 and Wolfgang SCHOERGHUBER in the ice running AUDI Quattro, everyone wanted to be a co-driver in the car from Alfons H. and Martin G., until I select the persons which can drove as a co-driver (among other things Renate K. the wife of an assistant of many years, as well as the brother-in-law of the owner of meeting area).

 

After determination the participant who confounded the meeting area with a racing course, Tom L. was reprimanded from the meeting area and I made myself on the way around too developed the situation so well it went. After I returned, I handed over the prices to the fastest 3 participant of the speed measurement in the category road traffic car and fastest 2 participant in the category motorsport cars and also for the furthest journey.

 

Thanks the support from CASTROL-AUSTRIA, PIRELLI-AUSTRIA, HENKELL-AUSTRIA and the autohouse BRÜDER-PRUCKNER with material-prizes could these competitions been carried out.

 

Some the participant made themselves already on the way home, some further say good bye against 21.30 and further against 00:30, among other also the "ROHRBACHER gang of thief " for which we had this year a special gift in form of an uncleaned engine block with a twisted piston rod that we handed over, so that the must not steal again "gg". The remaining participants withdrew themselves now constantly into the tent or hotel, till the hard core went home at approx. 05:00.

 

 On Sunday Michael prepared at approx. 08:00 the breakfast for the participants which in the tent stayed overnight , the participants which in the hotel stayed overnight took the breakfast at approx. 08:00 the in the hotel.

The Cart-race was cancelled due to the wrongdoing of Tom L. in coordination with the remaining participants, therefore I could change finally some words with the remaining participants. The prizes which for the cart-race were intended, became among the participants announced to the cart-race drawn by lots.

At 11:30 the landlords of the area came to strengthen itself with meals and drinks and discuss with the remaining participants the wrongdoing of Tom L. At approx. 12:30 the meeting of this year ended official and the remaining participants made themselves on the way home. As far as I know, all participants came well again home.

 Against 13:30 we and the helpers start with dismantling up to the Wednesday evening.
